Alberta committee backs Phillip Peters for auditor general

The Standing Committee of Legislative Offices recommends Phillip Peters to become Alberta’s 12th Auditor General, effective April 29, 2026.
The Auditor General is a nonpartisan officer of the Legislature who conducts independent audits of every Alberta government ministry, department, regulated fund and agency. Peters currently serves as general counsel and ethics officer with the Office of the Auditor General.
