Chilliwack Indigenous Court relocates to Siyá:m Lálem

The Chilliwack Indigenous Court has moved to Siyá:m Lálem (Stó:lō Government House), 8B-7201 Vedder Road, Chilliwack. People with court matters should attend there as of Sept. 17, 2026.

• What changed: The court now meets in a larger community space on Qw'oqw'elith'a (Coqualeetza) grounds, with room for Elders, families, victims and support people.
• What stayed the same: Court dates and procedures. Independent Provincial Court judges continue to decide how cases are heard.
• Access: The site is fully accessible, has free parking and is on a major public transit route. Contact the Chilliwack court registry at 604-795-8350 with questions.
• About the court: It has held one sitting a month since opening in December 2025, hearing an average of 10 cases per sitting day. The pilot is scheduled to run until March 2027.
