New chemicals added to Domestic Substances List

Summary#

This is Order 2021-87-10-01 Amending the Domestic Substances List. It adds several chemical substances to the Domestic Substances List, and the order took effect when it was registered on December 21, 2021 (published in the Canada Gazette on January 5, 2022).

What it does#

• Adds these CAS numbers to Part 1 of the Domestic Substances List:

• Adds these polymer/mixture entries to Part 3 of the Domestic Substances List (each entry begins with an identifier):
  • 19538-6 N-P — Methyl-polyhydroheteropolycycledione, polymer with alkylidynetrimethanol, polymethylalkanoate
  • 19539-7 N-P — Fatty acids, alkyl/alkenyl, dimers, polymers with 1,6-hexanediol, 5-isocyanato-1-(isocyanatomethyl)-1,3,3-trimethylcyclohexane, isophthalic acid, alkyl glycol, and trimethylolpropane, polyalkane glycol mono-Me ether-blocked
  • 19540-8 N-P — Fatty acids, tall-oil, polymers with α-[[[5-[[[bis(2-hydroxyethyl)amino]carbonyl]amino]-2(or 4)-methylphenyl]amino]carbonyl]-ω-methoxypoly(oxy-1,2-ethanediyl), bisphenol A, C16-18 and C18-unsatd. mono and diglycerides, dihydroheteromonocycledione, diisopropanolamine, epichlorohydrin, 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate, 5-isocyanato-1-(isocyanatomethyl)-1,3,3-trimethylcyclohexane, Me methacrylate and 1,1′- methylenebis[4-isocyanatocyclohexane], compds. with 2-(dimethylamino)ethanol
• The Order was made under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999 after the government received information that these substances had been manufactured in or imported into Canada above the thresholds set in the New Substances Notification Regulations (Chemicals and Polymers). The assessment period referenced in the Order had expired and no special conditions were in effect.
