CRA Revokes Charity Registrations

Summary#

The Canada Revenue Agency has published notices in the Canada Gazette saying it will revoke the registered charity status of a number of organizations under the Income Tax Act. The revocations take effect on publication in the Gazette — July 5, 2025.

What it does#

• Announces proposed revocation of registration for specific charities that the CRA says failed to meet parts of the Income Tax Act, including:

• States that the revocations are effective on the date the notices are published (that is, July 5, 2025).

• Donors, volunteers and clients of those charities who rely on their programs or on official donation receipts.
• Local communities where these organizations operate (faith groups, arts groups, community services and small foundations are among those listed).
