Government response

Response by the Minister of Government Transformation, Public Works and Procurement and Québec Lieutenant Signed by Jenna Sudds Public Services and Procurement Canada confirms that Building 200 is a federal property under its custodianship. The building continues to support federal office accommodation needs. Although the property was previously included on the Canada Public Land Bank, inclusion on the Land Bank does not represent a final or confirmed decision to sell. Rather, it is an early planning tool used to support long-term review of federal properties. Public Services and Procurement Canada would also like to clarify that the disposal process referenced in the petition is currently paused. As steward of federal real property, Public Services and Procurement Canada gives careful consideration to a range of factors, including operational requirements, heritage value, and long-term public interest. Any future decisions regarding Building 200 would be subject to further analysis and would follow established federal policies and processes. Public Services and Procurement Canada appreciates the interest of Yukoners in the future of Building 200 and remains committed to the responsible, transparent management of federal properties.
