Five associate judges join Saskatchewan’s Court of King’s Bench
The new judicial roles are intended to help the Court handle civil and family cases and support more timely resolutions.

The King's Bench Amendment Act, 2026, is now in force and establishes associate judges at Saskatchewan’s Court of King’s Bench. Five appointments take effect October 1, 2026, to help the Court handle civil and family matters and support timely resolutions.
The appointees are Louis Browne, K.C.; Darcia Connelly; Rani Grewall; Cynthia Yelland; and Registrar in Bankruptcy Alexander Shalashniy. All have been members in good standing of a Canadian bar for at least 10 years before appointment.
The Act also establishes a compensation commission and a complaint review council. The Government appoints associate judges based on recommendations from the Court’s Chief Justice.
