Justice for Vaccine Injured Veterans Act of 2025

Summary#

H.R. 1671 would create a presumption that certain diseases are connected to military service for veterans who received a COVID-19 vaccine under orders between August 24, 2021, and January 10, 2023. The covered diseases are myocarditis, pericarditis, thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome, and Guillain-Barré syndrome. The Secretary of Veterans Affairs could add other diseases based on a positive association with the vaccine. The bill would also require public reports every 60 days on related compensation claims for four years. It has been referred to a House subcommittee and is still in progress.

What it means for you#

If enacted, the presumption could apply to a qualifying disease that appears in a service member who received a vaccine under orders during the stated period. The bill does not guarantee that every claim would be approved. The Secretary would have to publish updates on claim numbers and outcomes.
