Full Title:
Federal Firearms Licensee Protection Act of 2025

Summary#

This bill, the Federal Firearms Licensee Protection Act of 2025, was introduced March 3, 2025 and referred to the House Committee on the Judiciary. It changes section 924 of title 18, United States Code. The bill makes it a crime to knowingly violate section 922(u), or attempt to do so, with a penalty of a fine, imprisonment for up to 20 years, or both. If the violation happens during a burglary, the prison term must be at least 3 years. If the violation happens during a robbery, the prison term must be at least 5 years. The bill defines "burglary" as unlawful entry into, or remaining in, the business premises of a licensed importer, licensed manufacturer, or licensed dealer with intent to commit a crime. It uses the existing legal meaning of "robbery" from section 1951(b). The bill also amends subsection (m) of section 924 to add coverage for attempts by inserting the words ", or attempts to do so," after "or licensed collector."
