The bill directs the Secretary to provide technical assistance for the Health Profession Opportunity Grant Program. Assistance would support grant applications and project administration, address the needs of tribes, tribal organizations, tribal colleges and universities, territories, and demonstration projects, and help grantees share effective practices. The Secretary must also hold peer assistance conferences and report to Congress during each Congress on assistance provided.
Eligible organizations and grant recipients could receive tailored help with applying for grants and carrying out grant-funded projects. The bill does not describe direct benefits for individuals.
The bill provides $15 million for fiscal year 2026 to carry out the technical assistance requirements.
