Summary#
This bill requires the Secretary of Energy to relocate the Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management from Washington, DC, to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The move must be completed by December 31, 2026. Within one year after the relocation is finished, the Secretary must send Congress a report that describes:
- any loss of employees (attrition) during and after the move;
- how much of that attrition is because of the move;
- how the Secretary will address that attrition; and
- how the move affected employees' ability to negotiate through representatives about working conditions.
The bill was introduced in the Senate on June 12, 2025, and referred to the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources.
