Summary#

The Background Check Completion Act of 2025 would change federal law to stop firearms dealers from transferring a firearm until a required federal background check is finished. The bill amends 18 U.S.C. 922(t)(1) by changing, removing, and relettering specific subparagraphs. It also makes technical and conforming changes to a provision of the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act and removes the phrase ", but in no case more than 10 business days," from a provision of the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act.
