Free RSV shots start for eligible B.C. seniors on Sept. 29
Adults 75 and older, and some Indigenous adults 60 and older, can get a free RSV vaccine through a time-limited program.
Summary
B.C.’s time-limited program will provide a free RSV vaccine to eligible people starting Sept. 29, 2026. Notifications with booking information are expected to begin Sept. 22 for eligible people registered in the Get Vaccinated system.
Who can get the free vaccine
- Adults 75 and older
- Long-term care and assisted living residents 75 and older
- First Nations, Inuit and Métis people 60 and older
Long-term care and assisted living residents will be vaccinated first. The vaccine will be available year-round at many pharmacies, public-health units, long-term care and assisted living residences, and community health centres or nursing stations in First Nations communities. One dose is currently recommended, and it can be given at the same time as flu and COVID-19 vaccines.
