B.C. backs 17 projects to cut industrial emissions

The Province is investing nearly $27 million in 17 industrial decarbonization projects across British Columbia through the Clean Industry Fund.

• More than $23 million will support four projects to demonstrate, pilot or deploy technologies.
• More than $3 million will support 13 studies assessing possible emissions cuts.
• Projects include work on carbon capture, electrification, biomass energy, emissions monitoring and energy efficiency.

Since 2019, the fund has invested more than $330 million. Its funded projects are expected to reduce greenhouse-gas emissions by more than 14 million tonnes. The Province says each dollar of fund support brings in another $2 from industry and partners.
