SkyTrain guideway work reaches Langley as construction advances

Guideway construction for the Dave Barrett Extension is moving into Langley, with the Langley Launcher set to build over Willowbrook Drive before advancing to the Willowbrook Station site. The Surrey Sprinter is expected to arrive at Green Timbers Station in the coming weeks.

• Progress: Guideway construction is about 65% complete; foundation piles and columns are more than 95% complete. Work is underway at all eight stations.
• Project: The 16-kilometre extension will run from King George Station in Surrey to Langley City Centre and is expected to open in 2029.
• Travel: The planned trip between Langley City Centre and King George Station is 22 minutes—more than 25 minutes faster than the current bus route.
• Active transportation: The project includes 14 kilometres of bike and multi-use paths.
