Return of Members Elected, 44th Election

Summary#

This is a short notice from the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer saying that the Return of members elected at the 44th general election was published in an extra issue of the Canada Gazette. The extra issue was dated October 21, 2021 and this notice appeared in the Gazette issue of October 30, 2021.

What it does#

• States that the document titled Return of members elected at the 44th general election was published as Extra Vol. 155, No. 7 on October 21, 2021.
• Serves as a formal pointer in the regular Gazette (Part I, Vol. 155, No. 44) to that earlier extra publication.

Who's affected#

• Most directly relevant to the members of Parliament named in the return and to people or organizations that need the official list of elected members.
• Also of interest to journalists, researchers, and anyone tracking official election records.
• The notice itself is administrative; it does not create new rules or obligations for the public.

Why it matters#

• It confirms where the official record of who was elected in the 44th general election was published.
• For legal, archival, or reporting purposes, the extra issue is the official place to find the return.
• Otherwise, this is a routine administrative step with no direct impact on most people's daily lives.
