Carney backs Ukraine-Russia energy ceasefire in call with Trump

Prime Minister Mark Carney spoke with U.S. President Donald Trump and expressed Canada’s strong support for the energy ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia.

• Carney said Russia should uphold the agreement and that attacks on energy infrastructure and civilians must stop immediately.
• Canada will continue supporting Ukraine’s defences and citizens with its allies.
• Canada will also continue seeking to maximize oil and diesel exports to the United States.
