Applications to take part in Michael Sankar inquest due Nov. 16
People and groups can apply to participate in the inquest; a judge will decide who may question witnesses at a Nov. 27 hearing in Winnipeg.

Sankar died in hospital on Aug. 7, 2023, after becoming unresponsive in a Winnipeg police vehicle. The cause of death was acute methamphetamine toxicity. The inquest will examine the circumstances of his death and what, if anything, might help prevent similar deaths.
