Trent will add 1,504 seats in high-demand programs
A $38-million provincial investment will fund new student places at Trent University, with enrollment possible starting in fall 2026.

Ontario’s $38-million investment will fund 1,504 additional seats at Trent University in Peterborough. Students may be able to enroll in the new seats starting in fall 2026.
The seats include:
- 1,081 in STEM programs
- 163 in education programs
- 126 in health programs
- 134 in other labour-market-driven programs
The funding is part of Ontario’s broader $1.7-billion plan to support more than 70,000 additional postsecondary seats in high-demand fields.
