The Mental Health Act is amended. Physician assistants and clinical assistants authorized by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba and nurse practitioners may conduct examinations and apply for involuntary psychiatric assessments. Other health professionals may also do so if authorized by regulation. The authority to conduct examinations and review board hearings remotely is confirmed under the Act.
