The municipal council approved the receipt of a grant of $2,436,490 from the Department of Homeland Security to fund the Specialized Domestic Violence Section of the Montreal City Police Service in 2026-2027 and 2027-2028. It also authorized an additional budget of revenues and expenses of $893,480 for 2026, an adjustment to the budget base for the following years, and the maintenance of seven police positions and one civilian position.
