This bill directs the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to create a program, within one year, to support drinking water and wastewater systems joining and using the Water Information Sharing and Analysis Center (Water ISAC). The program would encourage and help community water systems, publicly owned treatment works, and other appropriate entities participate in the Water ISAC, pay some costs needed to start or keep membership, expand EPA cooperation with the Water ISAC on collecting and analyzing incident data, and strengthen Water ISAC tools and resources for monitoring the water sector and preparing for, detecting, responding to, and recovering from malevolent acts or natural hazards. The bill defines terms used, and authorizes funding for the program.
The bill authorizes $10,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2026 and 2027, to remain available until expended, to carry out the program. No publicly available information on additional cost estimates or a Congressional Budget Office score is provided in the bill text.
