This bill requires the Administrator of General Services to send Congress an annual report on the Public Building Service real estate portfolio. The report must be submitted by January 31 each year and cover the previous calendar year. It must be sent to the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure and the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works. The report must include: the number of leases signed and terminated; total leased spaces; square footage leased, occupied, and vacant; number of buildings owned; top customers by square feet and annual rent; completed construction and major repair projects; financial indicators such as space utilization, operating costs per square foot, cost-avoidance from disposals and lease terminations, and deferred maintenance liabilities; any Federal buildings disposed of by the Office of Real Property Disposition; and GSA and tenant agency plans for relocating agencies from buildings GSA plans to dispose of or leased space GSA has not renewed, including how relocations will be paid for and whether the tenant requested them.
Congress will get yearly, detailed information about federal office space and building use managed by the Public Building Service. Federal agencies that occupy space managed by GSA may be asked to provide information for the report.
