This bill directs the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to investigate advertising and marketing of preterm infant formula, report to Congress within one year, and then write rules banning unfair or deceptive advertising practices for those products. The rules must address ads that leave out possible health risks or that fail to explain differences between human milk/human milk–based fortifiers and bovine-based fortifiers. The stated policy goal is to make sure families have accurate information about preterm infant feeding and to protect preterm infants and their families.
