Save Our Forests Act

Summary#

This bill directs the Secretary of Agriculture and the Forest Service to ensure the Forest Service is fully staffed. It defines key terms. Using funds previously appropriated to the Secretary, the bill requires increasing staff needed to sustain the health, diversity, and productivity of National Forest System land. The bill also requires the Forest Service to reinstate any individuals who were involuntarily removed or otherwise terminated from employment with the Service between January 20, 2025, and February 25, 2025. The Secretary is given authority to continue Service projects funded or authorized under the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act, the Great American Outdoors Act, the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, and the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022.
