New Brunswick sets a five-year course for farm and food-sector growth
The 2025–2030 plan focuses on farmland, stronger agribusinesses and more access to markets for New Brunswick farm products.
Summary
New Brunswick’s 2025–2030 Agriculture Growth Action Plan sets out three priorities:
- Optimize farmland by improving its use and protecting farmland and agricultural activities.
- Develop businesses by strengthening agribusinesses and increasing processing capacity.
- Grow markets by expanding export opportunities and market access.
A steering committee co-chaired by the Department of Agriculture, Aquaculture and Fisheries and the Agriculture Alliance of New Brunswick will guide implementation and assessment. In 2025–26, the department engaged with producers, industry groups, municipalities, Indigenous groups and government departments, and established an agricultural land unit.
