Three Southern Ontario hunters fined $9,000 for deer offences

The fines cover violations across the 2023–2025 hunting seasons, including untagged deer and misuse of licences or tags.

Summary

Three people from Southern Ontario were fined a total of $9,000 for deer hunting offences spanning the 2023–2025 seasons.

  • Harry Vandiepenbeek: $1,500 for enabling another person to use his licence unlawfully and possessing an untagged deer.
  • Chad Gill: $4,000 for several offences, including unlawful hunting in a controlled deer hunt and possessing another person’s tag.
  • Blake Wilson: $3,500 for several offences, including failing to invalidate a tag after a harvest and making false statements.

Conservation officers began investigating a hunting group in Huron County in September 2025. In November, they found an untagged deer at a hunt camp west of Lucknow. The cases were heard at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich.
