Summary#

This bill bans most use of remote control locomotives outside rail yards and stops remote control operation on main line tracks. It requires a certified locomotive engineer to be physically in the lead locomotive cab when a train runs on a main line. The bill directs the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) to audit railroads quickly and gives the Secretary of Transportation power to write follow-up rules.
